About

After nearly 50 years of dedicated (obsessive, compulsive) photographic practice I think it can be said that I have not been a “one trick pony”.
People, landscape, architecture and abstraction have all been subjects for me.
Collectively however I think there is in them a consistent demonstration of an interest in ideas and how photography can be at their service.
I also consider much of my work to be political. Inspired by the Soviet constructivist photographers of the early 20th Century my intention has been to contribute, in my own small way, to the making of better people and even, yes, a better world. An incredible ambition to be sure and one which I realise now to be also incredibly naïve.
I have also tried to make work which both “Mr and Ms Average” would appreciate as well as the “highest” towers of academia.
I began my working life at the age of fifteen and since then have had many different jobs and employers so as to pay the rent and finance my obsession.
In that time, I have also acquired a Bachelor of Arts (Sydney College of the Arts 1984-86) and established two businesses.
My photographs have been exhibited globally – most notably on greeting cards, posters and calendars courtesy of Edition Habit Press (circa 1987-2019) – and locally with Three Fives Press.
I have exhibited my work several times and some are in private collections.
It is now time for you, dear viewer, to judge these things …
Enjoy.
